With a new blog comes a new beginning. Therefore, I believe an introduction is in order.

My name is Sadie and I have always loved writing nearly as much as I like to overthink, the perfect combination for a philosophically inspired blog exploring the meaning of life itself, among other things. I often spend my days writing fiction, journaling, and trying to create a life for myself as a fresh-out-of-school young adult.

Like many others, I’ve been through quite a lot during my lifetime, even though my life is far from over. I’ve experienced the joys of childhood, family and relationships, the occasional trauma and years of going through a plethora of mental health struggles, as well as the unrelenting peacefulness of solitude.

All of these experiences have come together to create a mind that questions everything. From questioning the meaning of life itself to wondering if anything is truly reality, I often find myself staring up at the night sky full of stars asking the same thing over-and-over again. Why am I here?

Are we the purpose that we all eventually bestow upon ourselves? Is our reason for living predetermined or earned through life experience and decisions? I do believe that every living person or being has their purpose, whether self-decided or not, and has a reason for being on this earth, but what is mine?

I am well aware that I am not the only person to ever ask themselves this question, and so I have decided to create a space where we can explore the reason for our existence together, one blog entry at a time. We’ll discuss philosophy, history, mental health and wellbeing, current events, etc. Anything and everything that can give us a glimpse into the age-old question, “Why do I exist?”

With that out of the way, feel free to join me on this great adventure and welcome to Existential Crisis.
